About Us

Construction Solutions Limited (CS-L) was founded in 2005 by Gary Pearson where it was providing a construction consultancy service to contractors, developers, and private house owners on small and large scale, new-build and refurbishment projects. CS-L had specialised experience in Passive Houses, as Gary Pearson has trained as a Passive House Designer, and the consultancy work reflected this but was not exclusively limited to Passive Houses.

Since the tragedy of the Grenfell Tower fire, we have worked with a number of clients investigating, reporting and resolving fire sensitive matters both on the façades of buildings and the internal compartmentation.

The compartmentation of a building is designed to provide a level of fire resistance and to insulate against the effects of a fire, containing the fire and preventing or reducing the spread of both fire and smoke.

The compartmentation is designed to protect the “means of escape” via escape route corridors and stairs, allowing the occupants to flee the building, saving lives, and reducing the damage to the property.

Fire doors are a key component within a compartment wall. They are a complex, engineered solution, with many moving parts and subject to wear and tear, requiring regular checks and maintenance.

Clients were repeatedly asking CS-L to verify fire doors; therefore we undertook the appropriate training to become certified inspectors under the Fire Door Inspection Scheme (FDIS) which is certified by Warrington Fire.

Our clients are varied and includes building contractors and developers, public buildings such as schools and health care facilities, managing agents of multi occupancy buildings, private care homes, etc.

CS-L aim has always been and continues to be, “to advise our clients on their responsibilities under the current regulations, to provide accurate surveys, records, and schedule any remedial works required, to maintain the building to the required standards, with regards to the construction of their buildings in reference to fire safety matters.
