Passive Fire Protection Inspections

Passive Fire Protection is vital to the performance of a building or structure in the event of a fire. Passive fire protection is built into the structure to provide stability and into walls and floor to separate the building into areas of manageable risk.

Designed to restrict the growth and spread of a fire, allowing the occupants to escape or the fire fighters to do their job, such protection is either provided by the materials from which the building is constructed, or is added to the building to enhance its fire resistance.

A passive fire protection inspector, is an on-site representative of the Client responsible for monitoring the installation of the passive fire protection works, providing the quality control required to ensure that construction is compliant and mirrors the requirements of the design and specification.

The fire protection inspector can be described as the ‘eyes and ears’ of the Client and the Project Manager on site.

Our inspectors are typically Building Surveyors, senior tradesmen and site managers holding the appropriate passive fire protection training with many years of on – site construction experience behind them.
